Hong Kong air cargo stabilises in August 
 
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has released details on its tonnage throughput for August, indicating a stabilisation in traffic.

Some 206,810 tonnes were handled, a smaller year-on-year decline of 6.2%.

Traffic from January to August was down 17.9% to 1,411,725 tonnes, compared with the same period last year.

Export volume in August fell 10.1% against last year to 107,946 tonnes, while import volumes grew 4% to 55,973 tonnes, against August last year.

Transhipment volume for August and for the first eight months were 42,891 tonnes and 304,374 tonnes respectively, representing a 8.2% and 9.3% decline year-on-year for the respective periods.
